On February 16, 2026, Indivisible Mid Maine (IMM) is calling for pro-democracy, anti-authoritarian patriots in our area and across Maine and the USA to celebrate "Not THIS President! Day" as a fitting substitute for what others will refer to as "Presidents Day."

Here in the Waterville area, members of IMM will spread out safely in pairs and groups along local sidewalks (precise locations to be determined), facing the traffic, with the person holding a sign that says something like "Good presidents defend the Constitution" and the second person holding a sign that says "Not THIS President!" Variations on the first sign could be things like:

"Good presidents abide by the rule of law" "Good presidents feed the hungry" "Good presidents shelter the homeless" "Good presidents protect the innocent" "Good presidents preserve the People's House" "Good presidents respect ALL American history" "Good presidents respect our neighbors" "Good presidents treat our allies with courtesy" "Good presidents enrich the nation, not themselves" "Good presidents build schools and clinics, not golden ballrooms" "Good presidents shut up to listen to the voice of the People"

...etc., the first sign always followed by a second sign that says "Not THIS president!"

We encourage participants to get friends and family members involved in this effort wherever they are--always in pairs--and to share pictures on social media using the digital frame we hope to make available very soon, as well as the hashtag, #notTHISpresident!"

And although here in Waterville we will be out in the streets from 11:30am-1pm that day, this action can be done at any time that day that is convenient for you and a partner, or your group, wherever you are!
